My Dear Brothers and Sisters,Today we celebrate the Feast of the Lord’s Presentation in the temple. Jesus, indeed, is the Light of the World. As his faithful disciples we are called to carry his light to the ends of the earth. We do so by reflecting Christ in our lives to all those that we meet. May he give us the grace and strength we need to be his faithful disciples.
This past week our oldest parishioner, Frances Dubiel, died on Monday evening. Frances was 106 years old. For many years she cared for our altar linens until she became homebound about 10 years ago. Some of the lace on our altar clothes, which she made, came from her brother’s albs. He was a Monsignor. Let us remember Frances in our prayers. She was a good, kind and holy person. She will be buried next to her husband in Illinois. May she rest in peace.
Don’t forget the upcoming Chili Cook-off sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. Further details are in the bulletin. The money raised will go to help pay for the new, bound missalettes.
