Founded by the Venerable Fr. Michael McGivney, the Knights of Columbus (KC) is a fraternal benefit society, whose founding principle are charity, unity, and fraternity. The Knights render financial aid to members and their families, mutual aid and assistance are offered to sick, disabled and needy members and their families. Currently, there are over 2 million Knights worldwide whose principle work involves helping others in need. KC Council 644 is involved in service programs that include: Church, Community, Council, Family, Pro-Life, and Youth Activities.
In addition to the $30.00 annual dues paid by members, KC Council 644 hold many fundraisers: Pancake Breakfast, Chili-Cook Off, and Spaghetti Exhibition. Proceeds from our fundraisers help to fund a variety of projects at the Basilica of Saint John and in the community. KC Council 644 has been actively involved in supporting many projects and events as listed below.
